Bird supplies: when you want the best for your bird
Bird owners are crazy about their birds. Much like a parent sees to their child’s food, safety, shelter, and education, bird owners do the same for their birds. They want to be sure they are getting the best bird supplies for a happy and healthy bird existence. This requires careful attention to ensure your bird has the best bird supplies, including food, stand, toys, cage, and mental and physical stimulation to grow in a positive way.
Parrots are amazingly intelligent birds. They can solve problems, store and retrieve information and they have dazzling memories; plus, they are masters of communication.
Humans don’t like to acknowledge this, but parrots have been proven to be smarter than many pre-school children. And the right bird supplies are vital to their education and overall bird balance.
Bird cages are important components in a bird’s day-to-day life, especially when you are not at home. The cage offers security and protection, a safe haven in which to play, rest, and sleep. Quality counts when deciding on the appropriate cage for your bird.
The height of the bird cage should be tall enough to accommodate the full length of the bird’s tail. It should have enough room so the bird can turn around without hitting walls, toys or bowls. The bar diameter needs to withstand breakage from the bird’s beak. Birds like social activity, so one doesn’t want the cage kept in a dark, empty, noiseless spot.

In many ways, parrots need their bird stands to keep their behavior under control. When they get too wild, they come back to their bird stand and relax where it’s quiet and peaceful. Bird stands come in wonderful shapes and materials, including floor to ceiling and portable stands, wrought iron stands and stands made out of beautiful woods. A huge variety of attachments are available.
Premium bird food with adequate vitamins and minerals in a form that birds gain the most benefit from is vital to bird health.
And toys! Whatever the size of your parrot, toys are key to its psychological health. Puzzles, musical toys, sporty toys, visual toys are all important for adequate bird stimulation.

LOL I have an African Grey and her favorite toys are……paper bags I’m not even kidding. I have spent a LOT on toys for her and she doesn’t play with most.
Here are the things she plays with most & I highly reccomend
A bell, my grey loves ringing her bell, she also likes beating it up when she’s mad
she also very much enjoys shreddable toys like this one http://www.mybirdstore.com/MEDIUM_BIRD-FIESTA_TACO.html In the wild greys are foragers, so they really enjoy digging and shredding.
Boxes and paper bags bring her the most joy though!
Good Luck with your new buddy! AG’s are wonderful companions!

What would a cockatoo like best?
Question by Josh Woodhead: What would a cockatoo like best?
My cockatoo hobbes seems to go through toys very fast, im trying to think of a toy that will keep him entertained but i can think of one, please help
Best answer:
Answer by bluemoon_1948
Large Parrots do go through toys fast. Cockatoo’s are famous for chewing. It depends on what kind you have. if he is chewing up wood toys you just need bigger and harder woods. Buying toys and keeping a Cockatoo entertained can take a lot of effort. Its part of ownership. toys should also be rotated to prevent boredom. Search for toys for large parrots on the internet and attend bird fairs in your area where prices are better than in pet shops
