    Category: Forum

Question by Mike: Blue and gold macaw pulled a feather off?
My 6 year old blue and gold macaw pulled one of his big blue feathers off. We are new owners for him, and we have had him for about 3 days. I’m not sure what’s wroung he gets lots of attention and has lots of toys.

That’s perfectly normal. It was probably ready to fall out on it’s own. He’ll grow another one.

Does anyone know how to keep a Blue and Gold Macaw Quiet?

    Category: Forum

Question by phoenixofthewhiteburningtree: Does anyone know how to keep a Blue and Gold Macaw Quiet?
I’m having a rough time with my Blue and Gold winged Macaw. He’s very friendly and loves to be around people as long as he’s with me of course. But that’s the problem, it’s when I’m not around. Every time I go somewhere or leave to do something he screams. I can tolerate when he gives a few yells when I leave or when I put him to bed or maybe a few screams while I’m gone but not the whole time I’m gone. Lately when I’ve been away I come home to find out he has been yelling non stop. And I know he wants attention but I can’t always give him attention. I go to school and I’m not always home but when I get home I hear it from my family that he was screaming and they weren’t successful in calming him. I’ve had countless complaints from the neighbors of his screaming and today was my last straw. And sad to say if he doesn’t quiet down I’m going to have to get rid of him. Which I really don’t want to do, but it’s getting really out of control.Toys isn’t a problem. I’m just out of ideas.HELP!

Have you tried covering his cage and cutting out the lights?

    Category: Videos

I made a new tree/perch/toy for Buzzo tonight after a lot of help and ideas were mailed to me by a special friend. So far he’s only used one side of it, probably becayse it has the same type of cat ball as he’s used to playing fetch with. He did absolutely love it though :)

Question by Sophie_123: How much should i ask for my Blue indian ringneck(female) semi tame=((details))?
I am selling my Blue indian ringneck(female) semi tame because i dont have the time for her anymore and i have way too many birds.

She is blue with a darker blue ring around her neck she is almost a year old, she steps up onto your arm, takes food from your hand, likes to sit on your shoulder and play with your hair, she also loves to take showers with people and she is very friendly.

she doesnt like people putting there hands in her cage though.
    only sometimes.
and she is very healthy how much should i ask for her, she doesnt come with a cage just a few toys.

To the right person you might get 0 for her (you could put an ad in the paper). But more than likely, since you aren’t a breeder or a pet store, probably .

I paid like 0 for mine from a pet store, then I found out that I could have got one cheaper online. I love my Jasmine, though:)

We have a Blue & Gold Macaw and need toy ideas?

    Category: Forum

Question by Holly T: We have a Blue & Gold Macaw and need toy ideas?
Our Macaw was ignored in her previous home, and when we got her she was terrified of toys…especially any that made noise. We have had her a couple of years and she is starting to exhibit the destructive behavior that is normal for parrots. We are excited about this, and want to encourage it but toys still scare her. Looking for DIY toys to make so we are not spending fortunes on toys she wont touch. Any ideas?

Try some string or scraps of wood, birds like to tear them up. Also try some wooden skewers.
