Special Baby English Budgie / Parakeet Plays With Little Toy For FIRST TIME

    Category: Videos

Today, I couldn’t help but love it when I noticed Shyloh, 3 1/2 month old Parakeet/English Budgie mix, playing with a little ball that was on the floor. It may not seem like much, but it’s a great big step in the right direction for him. He would constantly try to fly, crash and land on his tail feathers – which would break off one at a time. One time he looked like he was having a seizure, and his head turned to the side. It stayed like that for about a week, then he was ok. He had a rough start and I didn’t think he’d make it. But a little extra time, attention and making sure he ate and drank, he has come a long way.

Are these toys a good idea for a budgie?

Question by Golden Meadows: Are these toys a good idea for a budgie?
It’s called budgie buddy, and is a toy budgie that has batteries, and chirps when approached

I just wondered though whether the budgie would bond with it as they do with mirrors, and not be interested in me.

I doubt it would bond with a plastic copy of a budgie over you. In fact I have a funny story.

I used to have a female and she was VICIOUS! She only paid her plastic budgie any attention when it was in her way. She pecked it so hard that it did a backflip around the perch and then she hit it as it came back so that it span forwards!

Budgies with aggro are so funny… anyway, I don’t think you should have any problems.

Buzzo the blue budgie has a new tree toy

    Category: Videos

I made a new tree/perch/toy for Buzzo tonight after a lot of help and ideas were mailed to me by a special friend. So far he’s only used one side of it, probably becayse it has the same type of cat ball as he’s used to playing fetch with. He did absolutely love it though :)

Timothy ‘The Budgie’ Playing Throw – The – Ball!

Possibly the best £1.00 I ever spent was on a budgies toy which has 4 plastic balls on it. Tim, our budgie loves to throw these balls onto the floor from the coffe table, flys down and toss the balls all around the living room.

Is my budgie in love with his toy?

    Category: Forum

Question by Sab: Is my budgie in love with his toy?
the toy is one of those round things that go on the perch with a bell inside. He is constantly sitting on it, rolling it, squishing his face onto it and making chirping sounds at it and so many other things, he just doesn’t leave it alone. Is he in love with it?

What is a safe toy that I can make for my budgie?

Question by .: What is a safe toy that I can make for my budgie?
He use to have two playmates, but they both passed away. Now he is doing pretty good on his own, but he gets bored quicker.

My parents are not allowing me to get another bird, so I want to know what kind of toys I can make for him to play with when I am away.

He really likes cuttlebones because it give him something to chew with his beak, but are there any alternatives to cuttle bones?
