The linnie is a male named Zeus. He’s a turquoise mutation color. The parrotlet is a male named Aurora. He’s a dilute-blue mutation color. They’e in my daughter’s room playing on my daughter’s dollhouse (used only by birds and Littlest Pet Shop toys).

My parrotlet stays in one part of the cage?

Question by Victoria: My parrotlet stays in one part of the cage?
My parrotlet is only in the corner of her cage. She stands on the perch all day admiring herself in the mirror. She only gets off to eat her food. I have also noticed that there is only poop in that one part where she stands. Do i need more perches? I only have 3. I also dont have any toys. Is this a problem? What does it mean since she stays in that corner?

I’d guess you need to get him some toys. Toys for parrotlets are really inexpensive. Be careful with mirrors. birds can bond with the bird in the mirror. Our parrotlet tends to like preening toys and things he can chew up a bit. He also LOVES having a fleece “pom pom” in his cage that he can get into on a perch-he uses it as a bed.
Most birds have one area of their cage that is their favorite. I have one place in each of my cages where they poop. Don’t worry so much about that. Birds just need to be entertained and yours really needs some toys to do that with.

How can i make my parrotlet happy and active? She is afraid of toys such as small wooden balls and small wooden logs she is also very very tame and calm which means she dosnt bite even if i hold her. She has a light blue face and front body and a dark blue back what should i name her too??

Parrotlets usually love toys. They also love those furry snugglies to hide in! Birds in general are wary and sometimes afraid of new things. Just introduce 1 toy at a time and give her time to get used to it and start playing with it. Then try adding another, etc. Sorry, no name suggestions! :)

My parrotlet, Herbie, is about 2 years old and totally attached to me. The only problem is that he will not play. He doesn’t play with anything besides his normal string toy that he shreds. How can I get him to play?
haha, i tried the jingle ball thing already, he flew away from it scared to death..thanks you the ideas about the playgroud an cat toys. i think i will go get some:)

Just keep trying to interest him in new toys, try playing with them yourself and make them seem interesting, he is more likely to like it if he sees you enjoying it- some birds only like one type of toy. I had two cockatiels- one played with everything- balls with bells in them, cardboard boxes, hanging toys, wood toys, feather toys, treat toys, etc. My other one only played with wooden toys (popsicle sticks) which she would break and then ignore the toy.

Parrotlet vs. Lorikeet

my parrotlet named ” Isbirdie” vs an australian lorikeet brought back from australia. She is pretty aggressive with her favorite toy..if u saw the back of the head its actually all ripped open along the neck area and the fluff is all ripped out.
